Liptov region is great for biking, due to many small routes in the valley and around the city Liptovsky Mikulas. In the summer time, people go for bike rides in the mountains, around the lake, on the roads or in the forests. Very popular routes are around: Liptovská Mary, over the Čiernovažská valley or Demänosvká valley, and many tourists combine walking and biking together.

We give an advice:
- Be careful on the main roads, follow the cycling signs or the common law of cycling.
- The quality of cycling roads and signs are different depending on which route you take.
- Many cycling routes end where they began, so you don't have to take the same route back.
Bed&Breakfast Limba - Pavčina Lehota
This route starts from our place up the main road for about 500 meters, then you take a right turn through a small bridge on an unpaved road. This road takes you around small cottages and forest. The first left on this unpaved road will take you under the forest road that will take you to village Pavcina Lehota. From there you take the main road and turn right on the crossroad back to our bed&breakfast Limba.
We give an advice:
- The biking route Pension Limba - Pavčina Lehota is the best for family with smaller children.
- The lenght is approximately 4 km
Pavčina Lehota - Lazisko
This itinerary starts from Limba, you take the main road down and turn left on the first crossroad. You go through the village and at the end you constinue on unpaved road through the hill to the next village Lazisko. Up the hill in this village is an old artificial wooden church. You can come back the same route. Its an easy unpaved road with parts on paved road as well.
We give an advice:
- This route is better to do in good weather, due to the enpaved part. It is little harder route to take.
- The lenght is 7km.
Pavčina Lehota - Lazisko - valley Mošnica
You take the same route as above, and then from the village Lazisko, you take a road up to the Mosnica Valley. It is very beautiful valley withlimestone walls, there is also hidden cave that is not open, the route also goes around the hill Sina, that is the dominance of this valley. This route is without traffic, its forbidden to go there by car, so there is fresh air and beautiful nature. At the end of the valley, there is a ramp, so you return back the same road.
We give an advice:
- This route is medium hard. It is better in sunny weather.
- The lenght is approximately 14km.
Lazisko - Dúbrava - Ľubeľa
Itinerary start near boarding house Limba, then you go main road to village Pavčina Lehota towards „družstvo“, there you´ll go on back road across small hill to village Lazisko. After cottage area arrive to village Dúbrava. About in the middle of village is bend to right by narrow „asfaltovou“ agricurtular way to cemetery- hill Šura. Frome there you´ll go by way nr. 18 to village Lazisko and by back road back to village Pavčiná Lehota. The way is long cca 20 km.
We give an advice:
- It is harder way mainly long. We advise for „cyklisti“ with good condicion.
- Long cca 14 km
Ploštín - Iľanovo - Iľanovská dolina
Itinerary start near boarding house Limba, go down cca 150m, across autocamping near hotel Bystrina. Here go on back road across hill around small hill Rohačka a go down to village Iľanovo . On the end of village is accession to Iľanovská valley, which is long 5 km. Here is narrow way across whole valley. Around small dam you can came on the end of village. This same way you can go back.
We give an advice:
- It ih harder way, mainly start after hill Rohačka is hard on condicion
- Somewhere is way, somewhere is grass.
- Long cca 20 km.
Ploštín - Iľanovo - Závažná Poruba - Opalisko
Itinerary start near boarding house Limba, go down cca 150 m, across autocamping near hotel Bystrina. Here go on back road across hill around small hill Rohačka and go down to village Ploštín near „družstvo“. In the middle of village near cultural house turn right and go on road to village Iľanovo. And from Iľanovo to village Závažná Poruba. You go on hill and easy ascending you come to skiing center Opalisko. By way you came near hotel Jaslovské Bohunice. Here you can have break for food and this same way come back.
We give an advice:
- The way is harder, adequate how halfday or all day trip.
- Long cca 30 km.
Liptovský Mikuláš - Okoličné - Uhorská Ves - L. Ján
Itinerary start near boarding house Limba, bz main road to Liptovský Mikuláš, across the town on Liptovský Hrádok, 2 km on the end of the town LM, on cross-roads turn right, across village Uhorská Ves and under the highway come to village Liptovský Ján. When you come there, on the first bend turn left and then you are in old part of village Liptovský Ján. Across the narrow streets you get near mineral „prameň“ Rudolf, and here you can drink mineral water. Then you go 15 m towards therm pool, by way to Jánska valley, which is long 18 km. On the end of way you have to go back or if you are able, you can go to Ďumbier.
We give an advice:
- The way is possible for children with own bicycle, because part of way is busy.
- Long: 38 km
L. Mikuláš - Smrečany - Veterná Poruba - Žiarska dolina
Itinerary start near boarding house Limba, by main road to L. Mikuláš 5 km, on hill Háje, railway, begin hard 2 km ascending, up is „výhliadkové“ place and monument SNP, 500 m under the top on the left on the way 1,5 km to village Smrečany, in the village near shopping center turn the right on abrasive way, ascending 2 km to village Veterná Poruba, from crossroad is ascending to back road to West Tatras, in forest is crossroad with 1,2 km long way to „ústia“ village Žiarska dolina, then is possible continue „tiahlym stúpaním“ long 5 km by way till Žiarska cottage. Not very strong people can go back to village Žiar, visit the chalet with specialites from sheep cheese, Smrečany, Podbreziny, Liptovský Mikuláš, Demänovská valley.

- The way is hard- long, it is good like all day trip.
- Long 40 km.
L. Mikuláš - Okoličné - Liptovský Hrádok - Kráľova Lehota - Čierny Váh
The itinerary start near boarding house Limba, by main road to Liptovský Mikuláš 5 km, by main road cca 10 km, behind „nadjazd“ in Liptovský Hrádok go bearing Poprad, near way is possible look „hámor“ Liptovská Maša 12 km crossroad right bearing montane „prechod“ Čertovica – Banská Bystrica, 100 km behind the crossroad turn left under the railway underground to village Kráľová Lehota, then 18 km bearing Svarín around horse farm Gaburovci (possible fast food), on way ascending by mark to water work Čierny Váh.
We give an advice:
- The way is very long, it is better like all day trip, beautiful scenery.
- Long 46 km.
L. Mikuláš - Ondrašová - L. Trnovec - L. Matiašovce
The itinerary start near boarding house Limba, by main road to Liptovský Mikuláš 5 km, by main road bearing Liptovský Trnovec near dam Liptovská Mara, in village L. Trnovec turn right, go to village on the end. Near „družstvo“ ascending to hill agricultural way 3 km near forest till main road to Lipt. Matiašovce, turn the right to village. There you can visit also church st. Ladislav, back by mainroad near village Liptovská Sielnica by crossroad 3 km , turn left and near lake to Liptovský Trnovec. When you´ll go back, you can visit Aquapark, then Liptovský Mikuláš and 5 km by mainroad to boarding house Limba.
We give an advice:
- The way is adequate for able tourist, it is better like all day trip.
- Long 50 km.
L. Mikuláš - Bobrovecká vápenica - L. Matiašovce - L. Sielnica
The itinerary start near boarding house Limba, by main road 5 km to Liptovský Mikuláš, then continue by way to town part Ondrašová bearing village Bobrovec 6 km, behind village is narrow way and enter to Bobrovecká valley, beautiful nature, view, small ascending 2 km, then there are cottage area, on left side is way towards stone-pit, follow forest part long 2,5 km then fall to village L. Matiašovce, crossroad left near village L. Sielnica, then by way bearing L. trnovec cca 10 km and near L. Mara you came to L. Mikuláš, 5 km to boarding house Limba.
We give an advice:
- This way is difficult, but one of the most beautiful ways around Liptovská Mara. It is better on all day trip in nice weather.
- Long 30 km
Walking
If you go in Liptov everywhere, you find nice mountain country. Also walking is good relax. Many walking ways come across national parks, reservations. So Liptov give mineral springs and also mountains. The ways are mark by yellow, green, red and blue colour.
Prosiecka valley
The start of way to Prosiecka valley is in the end of village Prosiek, cca 20 km from boarding house Limba. Here stop your car. Enter to valley start „tiesňavou“, behind brook Prosiečanka is path long cca 4 km. Probablly after 2 hours walking you came to falls and then you continue 1 km by ladders towards hill Prosečné. From Prosečné you can go to village Huty.
We give an advice:
- Come back you can only this same way. In spring is problem cross brook Prosečianka, it is better take off your shoes.
- This turistic way is good also for small children like all day trip.
Kvačianska valley
Enter to valley is in the end of village Liptovské Kvačany, which is far cca 20 km from boarding house Limba. Here you stop your car and continue after way ut to Kvačianska valley, near brook Kvačianka. The way is across greenwood and somewhere you can see canyon under you. After 2 hours you come on crossroad to Kvačianske beaters. It is technical unique from 19. century. Here is possible to have a rest, and continue to village Huty
We give an advice:
- Come back you can only this same way.
- The way isn´t complicated, adequate for children and also older people.
- You don´t need special shoes.
Žiarska valley
You can came near enter to valley by car cross village Smrečany and Žiar, far 10 km from boarding house Limba. There you stop your car and you can visit chalet with specialites from Slovak kitchen from sheep cheese. Then you continue afoot 5 km. After 4 km you´ll see beautiful view on West Tatras. On the end of Žiarska valley is Žiarska cottage, where you can have rest, eat or where you can sleep.
We give an advice:
- The way is long, but not very hard so it is possible also for children or loder people.
Kalameny
This location is near town Ružomberok far cca 25 km from boarding house Limba. Here is path to old castle from 13 century which is called Liptovský Castle – Sestrč. In the valley is also many mineral springs with ferric water. Near to castle you can go by car. From castle you continue across meadow and forest to hill-fort. There is beautiful view on dam Liptovská Mara and villages around dam. The ruins of castle are partly in reconstuction. By this same way you can come back and bath in dam.
We give an advice:
- This way is ideal for children, it isn´t hard, it is interesting.
- It is good take with us some food, because here isn´t some restaurant.
Rohačka
It is near from boarding house Limba, only 4 km. Start this way you can 150 m under boarding hose Limba behind autocamping areal. The way is across meadow and acre near village Demänová. After 1 hour you came near hill Rohačka. For Rohačka is typicated rock on the top of the hill. Near hill is small ski center. This place is also education for paragliders. From here you can go to village Ploštín or go back.
We give an advice:
- It is easy way possible also for children or older people.
- You can see wild animals and near way is hotel Bystrina, where you can have a rest.
Repiská
This place is in the middle of Demänovská valley, far cca 6 km from boarding house Limba. The start is on the left side from hotel Repiská, cca 500 m from bus stop. Then continue near brook Demänovka probably 2,5 hours by meadows or forest. Near is mountain tarn Vrbické tarn near Mikuláška cottage on the end of Demänovká valley. The tarn is beautiful place for walk, around tarn are path. In the lake you can see trouts. You can have some food in Mikuláška cottage and 200 m from this cottage is hotel Grand. Ak vám zostali sily, môžete si vystúpiť zjazdovkou popod kabínkovú lanovku alebo smerom k hotelu SNP nastúpiť na zjazdovku Biela púť a zostúpiť ňou k zástavke autobusu.
We give an advice:
- The way isn´t difficult, it is good like half day trip.
- You can go there by bus.
Záhradky Chopok
The ski center Záhradky Chopok is far from boarding house Limba 10 km. The start is behind hotel SKI. Here you can go by cable-railway on „úpätie“ chopo, and last 500 meters go by path till to top of hill. Stronger people can go afoot to valley, it is around 3 hours by „zjazdovka“ Turistická by forest on „medzistanica“ Luková and from there on the top of Chopok 2024 m.n.m. There is beautiful view on Liptovská Mara and ski center Jasná Low Tatras. You can go back afoot or by cable railway.
We give an advice:
- The way is little bit difficult, it is for people with good condicion.
- Attention: you´ll need warm clothes and good shoes.
Ružomberok - Vlkolínec
This tourist way is 30 km from boarding house Limba. It start in the town Ružomberok in recreation area Hrabovo. Here you stop your car and go by cable railway to valley Malinô Brdo. It is famous ski center and there are also simply touristic ways. On the left from top station on the path after 1 km is hill Sidorovo, from mountain village Vlkolínec. This area is alive open-air museum and it is part of world monuments UNESCO. If you decite for visiting this village, you´ll see village manhole, bell-tower, you can visit exposition agricultural house or odmire folk architecture, colourful wooden houses. Go back you can by cable railway or afoot.
We give an advice:
- It is little bit difficult way across meadow adequate for children and also older people.
- Travel by cable railway is very exciting.
- Take with us warm clothes and good shoes.
